Covelong Point Classic Surf Contest - 2014

Chennai, TN – TT Logistics and EarthSync in association with the Surfing Federation of India is organizing the second annual Covelong Point Surf Festival this September 12th - 14th , 2014 in Covelong village near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The festival will feature a national level surf competition, surf workshops, a music festival, various beach side activities and celebrity guest appearances by Jonty Rhodes and Milind Somand amongst others.

Surfing India is happy to announce that Suniel Shetty has recently accepted to become the President of Surfing Federation of India (SFI). In addition to being the President of the Surfing Federation of India, Suniel Shetty also operates the water sports complex H2O in Mumbai and he is acting Captain of the Mumbai Heroes cricket team in the Celebrity Cricket League.

You are a surfing ambassador for India. How did that come about and what does it entail? JR: Hopefully, as many waves as I can catch every time I come to India! Paddy Upton, who worked with Team India during the 2011 Cricket World Cup, is an avid surfer, and dedicated traveler, spoke to me last month about trying to put surfing on the map in India. Cricket is such a popular sport over here, that Paddy hopes that with my involvement, and the media’s fascination with anything to do with cricket, my role will lift the profile of surfing in India!

SFI at China Surf Festival

China held it's first ISA and ASP surf event for the first time in Hainan Islands of China. It was one of the most important events showcasing China's potential in surfing. Kishore Kumar (President) of Surfing Federation of India was there representing India and extending support to ISA & ASP event in China.
